On Sunday, October 8, India and Australia engaged in a thrilling low-scoring match at Chepauk during the ODI World Cup 2023. The 31-year-old said that Kohli instructed him to wait it out and play like a Test cricket player to fend off the Australian bowlers, who had their tails up on a pitch that was giving them a lot of assistance.
“Virat mentioned that the surface is very supportive, and [we] just need to play decent shots and play like it’s Test cricket for a while and see how it goes. Rahul has been playing ODI cricket this year in outstanding form. The right-handed batter has 628 runs in 13 innings at an astounding average of 78.50 and a respectable strike rate of 86.5. In this time, he has one century and five half-centuries.
