On social media, Indian Premier League (IPL) founder Lalit Modi showed his admiration for Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He shared a popular Ghibli-style photo of Kohli holding the IPL trophy in his hands along with a lovely team comment.
After 18 years of waiting, Modi said that RCB would win the trophy this year because the supporters “deserve” it. In the current season, the Bengaluru-based team is playing well and has a strong chance of winning the trophy as well.
Lalit Modi gave Kohli high marks for his services to both the RCB and Indian cricket.
RCB is now the most followed team on Instagram and has a sizable fan base despite not having won the championship yet. This says a lot about the squad and its supporters, who have supported them despite finishing 17 seasons without a trophy.
It is my belief that Royal Challengers Bengaluru will win the Indian Premier League this year. After waiting for a good eighteen years, the RCB fans will enjoy it. Of course they are deserving. The team’s performance this season has been outstanding,” he said as the caption for an Instagram picture.
“After joining RCB at the beginning of season one as a young player who had just captained the India team and helped them win the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2008, Virat Kohli, the superstar, went on to have an incredible career that won the hearts of more than a billion people worldwide. Wins like that would be #appropriate for the team and HIM, which my close buddy Vijay Mallya purchased for $112 million in 2008. “I hope the best for them,” Modi continued in the post.
Rajat Patidar is the team’s leader this season and has performed admirably. RCB is fiercely battling in the championship and has won four away games. Qualification for RCB is assured if they succeed in their next games.
