Litton Das will miss the forthcoming three-match 20-over series against Afghanistan due to a Grade 1 strain in his left abdominal muscle acquired during the Asia Cup 2025. Jaker Ali, the wicketkeeper-batsman, will command the team in Litton’s absence.
Bayjedul Islam Khan, Bangladesh’s team physiotherapist, verified the development. According to him, Litton’s recuperation would be continuously monitored.
However, he did not provide an update on when Litton Das will be totally fit to return to action.
“He (Litton) had missed the last two matches of the Asia Cup with a side strain. An MRI scan has revealed a Grade 1 strain on the left abdominal muscle. He is undergoing recovery and will not be available for the T20 series. The medical team will continue to manage his rehab and monitor his progress,” Bayjedul was quoted.
Coming to the squad news, 32-year-old batting all-rounder Soumya Sarkar is the only fresh addition to the unit that featured in the Asia Cup. The three-match series is scheduled to commence on Thursday, October 2. All matches will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
