Right then, that is all we have from this first T20I. It has turned to be a disappointing day as we could not get a result here. However, we will be back for the second T20I from the same venue, Windsor Park and that game will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT) on Sunday, 3rd of July. Our build-up though begins a lot earlier. Do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
UPDATE - 2.52 am IST (9.22 pm GMT, previous day) - The first T20I has been abandoned! Yes, you read that right. The sun is out and conditions look good for cricket but the problem is time! Yes, we have run out of time for a 5-over chase and after a brief discussion with the two captains, the umpires have decided to call off the game. It was a carnival atmosphere at Dominica and a big moment for them as the international cricket has returned on their shores after five long years but sadly the rain has played spoilsport here. We had some cricket though and it was quite entertaining but there are some rules that are in place and sadly match officials are bound to follow them.
Right then! Bangladesh have managed to score 105 runs in 13 overs! But we will get back with the revised total if weather permits! Stay tuned we will get back with further updates.
West Indies began proceedings in the correct way! They grabbed an early wicket and pushed Bangladesh on the back foot early on. Post that they let Bangladesh get away with a few runs and let the game slip away. However, they fought back well and exceptionally well and recovered in no time. After the Powerplay, West Indies made sure they took wickets at regular intervals and eventually restricted Bangladesh to a par score. Romario Shepherd was the leader of the pack as he grabbed 3 wickets in his spell of three overs.
After opting to bat first, Bangladesh lost Munim Shahriar in the first over itself, but that did not stop them from scoring runs. They came out with some positive intent and dominated the Powerplay. They did lose another wicket but still, they did not shy away from playing aggressive shots during the field restrictions. Bangladesh scored 46 runs at the loss of two wickets in the first five overs. However, post that they lost their way, and started to lose wickets in a heap! All of a sudden from 56 for 2 they tumbled down to 77 for 7. Thanks to Shakib Al Hasan's quick-fire at the top and Nurul Hasan's cameo at the end, Bangladesh crossed the 100-run mark. They would feel they are around 20-30 runs short.
End of a short yet entertaining and enterprising innings! There is no doubt that West Indies would be the happier side of the two at this break! Although Bangladesh have done reasonably well to cross the 100-run mark! It was the final over bowled from Odean Smith that helped Bangladesh reach there.
UPDATE - 2.32 am (9.02 pm GMT, previous day) - Uh-Oh! There it is again! The rain is back and the groundsmen rush in with the covers. The players have been taken off the field. The rains seems quite heavy as compared to the previous time, which indicates this will be the end of the first innings of the game!

Goes fuller and around off. It is a slower delivery and Nasum Ahmed is early in his slog. The ball goes towards mid off and Pooran there misfields it as the ball goes through him. The batters come back for two before the fielder cuts it off.
Shoriful Islam comes to the crease.

OUT! CAUGHT! Odean Smith gets his revenge! He lands it on a length again but it is wider outside off this time. Nurul Hasan gets across and looks to hit this over mid-wicket fence again. However, he does not get the power behind this shot and the ball goes high in the air towards deep mid-wicket. Brandon King there takes a fine catch running forward. Clever bowling from Odean Smith this time!

SIX! Clever shot! Lands on a length, on off. Nurul Hasan gets a bit across and just scoops it over the fine leg fence for a maximum. Very good shot and Bangladesh need more of this.

Goes fuller on middle. Nurul Hasan works it behind square on the leg side for a single. 8 runs from the over and Bangladesh need a strong finish here to put a competitive total on the board.

NO BALL and FOUR! Obed McCoy fails to control his delivery this time and ends up bowling a beamer on off. Nurul Hasan sways away from the line of the ball and guides it over short third man for a boundary. Free Hit coming up.
