So, that's that from this low-scoring entertainer. The Adelaide Strikers Women have stemmed their losing spree while Sydney Sixers Women are unable to do theirs. The former are still in contention this season while the latter's fortunes are sinking down now. Hang on though as the Melbourne Derby is about to get underway shortly. The Stars will take on the Renegades and that match begins shortly. You can switch tabs and catch all the action there shortly...
Tegan McPharlin has been announced as the PLAYER OF THE MATCH.
Earlier in the day, after winning the toss, Sydney Sixers Women opted to bowl. They did a really superb peformance with the ball, restriciting Schutt's women to just 119/8. But Adelaide Strikers were not going to give in that easily. They put up an even stellar performance with the ball and absoutely got the better of Perry's women, winning quite easily in the end.
Adelaide Strikers Women put up a tight bowling display, defending a low total. Commendable stuff from them, to say the least. Wellington was outstanding in her 4 overs, giving away just 11 and getting the important wicket of Van Niekerk. Besides her, skipper Schutt, McGrath and Coyte were outstanding as well. Almost everyone was in the wickets column, just the stuff expected when you are defending a low total.
Should have been an easy chase for Perry's women but they struggled. They lost Healy early and the scoring rate never really took off. 3 quick wickets later on put them further on the back foot. Then a revival of sorts was happening before another collapse of 4 wickets happened. After that, it was just asking for too much. Strikers Women won comfortably by 14 runs in the end. A massive win. They stay well in contention this edition now.
A magnificent win for Strikers Women here. They would not have been favourites for halfway of the game but they did well to swing it back in. And a large part of it belongs to McPharlin for her crucial, quickfire 41 from 26 balls. The bowlers too deserve credit but it was a tough wicket to bat on and hence McPharlin deserves a bit more of the credit.

OUT! LBW! Burns goes and this should be all over for the Sixers. A length ball around off, Burns looks to slog it on the leg side but the ball keeps low and hits the pad. They appeal and the finger is raised.
