So that is it from this game! Cricketing action though does not end here. Still another Big Bash game, the India and Australia decider and also the Test match between England and South Africa to start so you are probably spoilt for choices at the moment. If you ask me, I would definitely keep an eye on all the three. Goodbye and take care!
The MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD has been given to Head for his brilliant knock which took the Strikers to a big total.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bowl, Hobart did have the visitors in trouble initially but a superb knock from Head and a decent hand by Wells saw them get close to 190 which in the end proved to be enough.
Chasing a big total you need to get off to a good start but that did not happen! Hobart lost their openers early. Doran and Miller then tried to build a stand but just as the former got going, he perished. McDermott along with Miller then kept the hosts in the game but they McDermott fell when his side needed him to bat longer. Bailey also did not contribute a lot and it was all on Miller to take them home. He did strike a few meaty blows but could not win them the game. Heartbreak for him in the end but all smiles on the faces of the Strikers.
What a knock from Miller! He rolled back the years today, single-handedly took the Hobart side close to the target. However, his effort goes in vain and Hurricanes chances of making it into the top 4 has been dented big time.

We are back for the chase! Out come the Adelaide players, they are followed by the Hurricanes' openers, Matthew Wade and Celeb Jewell. Michael Neser to start the proceedings for the visitors. Here we go...
Now then, the target is a big one and the wicket did seem like doing tricks in the first half! Hobart will have to bat out of their skins if they are to chase this down. Can they do so? It is a game they need to win. Stay tuned for the chase.
An excellent batting display from Adelaide! It is their skipper and the ever reliable Wells who have taken them into a comfortable position. Had they been given something above 180 when they were two down in no time, they would have taken it with both hands. Head and Wells though then formed a solid stand. The former was the aggressor and the latter played the supporting role. Head scored a half ton and was going bonkers. When he was batting 200 looked possible. However, once he fell, Hobart managed to pull things back a little but the visitors have their noses ahead at the break.

Could have had two in two! This slower through the air and on middle, Wells looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. A huge shout but turned down. The batters take a leg bye as it rolls towards third man. That looked close, the batter is lucky to get away with one.

OUT! TAKEN! Head is a goner! Rose has the last laugh. End of a brilliant, brilliant innings from the Strikers' skipper. He has laid the foundation for the others to come in and capitalize. For Hobart, it is a timely wicket as they can now try and pull things back. Head comes down the track and looks to whip it over mid-wicket. He gets more height than distance and Jewell at deep mid-wicket makes no mistake this time.

SIX! Sixth biggie for Head! Second in the over. This is slower and outside off, Head manages to drag it over the mid-wicket fence for a huge one.

SIX! That was off the top edge but it goes all the way! Raining sixes here. It is on middle, Head looks to play the slog sweep but it goes off the top edge. The fielder at deep backward square leg thought he is in with a chance but it goes well over his head.

Fifty for Head! The skipper leads from the front when his team needed him too. Yes, he was dropped but take nothing away from the strokes he has played. He gets there by stroking this wide of mid off for one.

SIX! That has gone a long way up in the air and over the ropes! That dropped catch is really hurting Hobart. Head brings out the slog sweep, he does not get it off the middle but hits it well enough to clear the ropes. 50-run stand up between the two. Vital one as Strikers were in trouble.

OUT! Caught and bowled! Scott Boland has another and the dropped chance of Weatherald has not cost a lot. Strikers in trouble. And again, the slowness of the wicket is very visible. It is fuller and around off, comes off slow from the wicket. Jake Weatherald looks to drive it down the ground but is done in by the lack of pace. He ends up chipping it to the right of the bowler who sticks his right hand out and takes it. A good catch in his follow-through. Boland on a hat-trick.

OUT! Leading edge and taken! Boland continues to take wickets in this year's Big Bash! This is fuller and around middle, Salt is early in the flick shot. It goes off the leading edge towards cover-point where Ellis takes it. A good wicket as Salt was looking good. He though falls for another low score and Hobart have done exceptionally well after an expensive first over.

DROPPED! Jewell puts down Jake! That should have been taken. This could prove very costly as we all know what Weatherald is capable off.
