Earlier in the game, Galle Marvels put up a strong bowling performance initially, led by Isuru Udana and Dwaine Pretorius who claimed crucial wickets. However, they lost momentum towards the end and an expensive final over from Pretorius allowed Kandy Falcons to post a challenging total of 175 runs. Despite early setbacks, Kandy Falcons staged a commendable recovery, with Andre Fletcher playing a lone hand initially. Later, Hasaranga's aggressive approach steered the team to a competitive total. Fletcher's dismissal was a setback, but Hasaranga's fifty ensured a strong finish for Kandy Falcons.
Honestly, it was a very lackluster effort from the Falcons bowlers. They could not really apply the pressure with the new ball and that is where they really lost this game.
Wanindu Hasaranga then put his hand up with the ball in hand and broke the second-wicket partnership here to try and bounce back in this contest. Although, a handy cameo from Bhanuka Rajapaksa made sure to keep the opposition at bay. Tim Seifert kept going strong from his end and never let any doubts creep in.
It is an effortless victory for Galle Marvels in their run chase of 176 runs. Tim Seifert and Alex Hales made sure to not get derailed after that early breakthrough in the Powerplay. Both these batters went hammer and tonks against every bowler coming at them in the first six overs. This certainly helped them set the tone of thus run chase. They hardly gave the Falcons any sniff of victory in this outing.
