That’s it from this game then! The Men’s action follows shortly. That too is an important game as both the sides are in desperate need of a win. That game will begin shortly. Till then, goodbye and take care!
Beth Mooney is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Says that Kathryn Bryce finished the game well and really a good day overall for the side. Mentions that she would have taken her score at the start of the day but feels just a bit disappointed to not get that. Says that the pitch was brilliant and it was good to finally get going with the bat. Closes by saying that it is important for her to keep the keeping drills going and she is happy to contribute with the gloves as well.
The key for Manchester Originals Women was they always managed to take wickets when they needed it. The likes of Kim Garth and Lauren Filer were really good at the start. Especially Garth who was the pick of the bowlers. They did come under pressure in the middle overs when Phoebe Litchfield was going great guns but they held their nerve and have managed to bag a win after a string of losses. Kathryn Bryce managed to bag a fifer and a hattrick in that. However, the star for them was Beth Mooney! She was very unfortunate to not get a ton. It was because of her, that they got to a score that we felt was well above par. Superchargers though did well to come close but have to admit, Mooney was the difference between the two.
A really fine effort from the Superchargers to get close to this total but it was going to be a special effort from someone if they were to chase this down. It also seemed like coming from Phoebe Litchfield. After they lost two early, she batted brilliantly with Annabel Sutherland who gave her good support. The former was the aggressor and the latter played second fiddle. When they were batting, Superchargers were well and truly in the game but both fell in quick succession and then it was too much of a task for the lower order.
