Moeen Ali, the skipper of England is up for a chat. He says that it was a very good series and credits his bowlers for the way they performed throughout the series. Adds that all the batters played really well too even though they failed a few times to chase down the total. Mentions that when they needed two must-win games the boys stepped up and it was amazing to see that. Ends by thanking the crowd and PCB for hosting England.
Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan is up for a chat. He says that it was difficult to chase 200 runs after losing early wickets. Further says that their plan didn't work from the start of the match. Says they will sit and talk about what went wrong. Tells that Haris Rauf has been positive for them. Says they are missing Shaheen Afridi and hopes to have him back soon.
Harry Brook is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES. He says that the plan is to hit the ball straight. Adds that he had a lot of practice sessions in the nets and says that he tries to hit the ball straight but when there is an opportunity he looks to manipulate the field. Mentions that all the players are looking forward to the T20 World Cup but first they need to get out and get to Australia. Ends by saying that it has been good fun to be in Pakistan.
Dawid Malan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that they treated this game as a final and it was a fantastic effort from them. Further says that the ball was coming on the bat nicely till the 12th over but after that, it started slowing up. Adds that they will leave for Australia and hopes that they perform well.
Presentation time...
Earlier in the game, Babar Azam won the toss and put England into bat. The English batters looked aggressive and even when they lost a couple of wickets early, everyone just kept on attacking. Dawid Malan played a brilliant inning from one end which ensured that the visitors finished on a score of above 200. The Pakistani bowlers, apart from Haris Rauf, didn't pose much threat and Mohammad Wasim had a game to forget. With a mammoth total to chase down, the Pakistani openers faltered and from then on it was all England.
Pakistan have been heavily reliant on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in this series and with both of them getting out very early in the innings, life was made very difficult for them. The only shining light was Shan Masood who once again showed his class by playing a lone hand. But with plenty needed, their middle order just didn't have enough in them to get even close to the English target and they will be disappointed to lose the series in such a way in front of a packed home crowd.
England had a big score on the board and all they needed was early wickets and they got just that. The English pacers made short work of the Pakistani top order in the Powerplay and set up the game nicely. The spinners too were able to control the game in the middle phase and in the end, they won the game quite comfortably.
What a fabulous series we've had and it is England who clinched the 7-game series 4-3 and they have done so in some style. Pakistan were completely outplayed in the decider.
