Right then! The Scorchers move up to 4th on the points table courtesy this big win over the Renegades who in turn continue to lie at the bottom. We are not done yet though as another match is coming up which is between the Sydney Sixers Women against the Hobart Hurricanes Women. Switch over tabs to catch all the action from that game.
Sophie Devine is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. She says that it was nice to finish the job. Says that Chloe coming in at No. 3 was fantastic. On her 100th six , coming in this match, Devine says she is really happy. States that cricket is a funny old game. Complements the bowlers and says that they have been doing a really good job. States that she encourages her team to play bravely.
Earlier, in the day, the Scorchers bowlers were magnificent as they restricted Renegades to just 122 courtesy an all-round bowling performance from their bowlers. The batting from the Renegades was poor and they struggled to get going. The Scorchers were terrific with the bat and in the end, they managed to win by a comfortable margin.
The bowling started well for the Renegades but the target was a little too low to defend. They tried hard but Sophie Devine was too hard to stop and they faltered. One area they will be disappointed with is their fielding. They had a couple of chances to send Devine back to the pavilion but they failed to hold on and Devine made them pay big time. Overall, it was another disappointing performance from the Renegades.
The batting from the Scorchers was terrific. They came out and played cautiously and even though, they lost Beth Mooney early, there were no doubts about the chase. Sophie Devine was brilliant and her 77 made it easy for Chloe Piparo to settle herself in. Piparo then showed here range of shots and her partnership with Devine ensured that they get home easily.
A comprehensive victory in the end for the Perth Scorchers. They were absolutely brilliant in this game and they have beaten the Renegades by 9 wickets and 31 balls to spare. They never looked in doubt after they restricted Renegades to just 122. Overall, it was a dominating win for the Scorchers.
