Azam Khan (Player of the match for his 97 off 42) says it could well be his best innings so far as the ball was coming onto his bat well and he played every ball to its merit. He adds that his dad has played a massive role in his success and such nights as he was the one who encouraged him always to do well. He also adds it is all about the mindset on how you see the situation and when you decide to block or go for range hitting, one just needs to be clear in his mind on what to do.
Sarfaraz Ahmed the skipper of Quetta Gladiators says that Azam Khan is our player and he was amazing. Adds that Asif Ali was great as well and it was a good game. Ends by saying that they will work on their mistakes and bounce back stronger in their next game.

Asif Ali is in for a quick chat. He says congratulations to the team as they had a plan after a bad start and they managed to execute them to perfection. Adds that they always kept on their strengths as they knew mistakes will happen. On his partnership with Azam Khan he adds that he was just trying to play the anchor role and he was in his zone today and was hitting the ball with real confidence and clarity. Earlier in the game, it was an Azam Khan show as he scored 97 runs off just 42 deliveries and helped Islamabad United reach a mammoth total of 220 runs. Colin Munro and Asif Ali played fine cameos as well for their side. Quetta Gladiators struggled to find their lengths right. They had a good start to the game but lost their momentum afterward in the game.
Quetta Gladiators batters struggled with their blades. They lost both of their openers early on. Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed steadied the sinking ship for a while but both lost their wickets. Hafeez scored 48 whilst their skipper, Ahmed scored 41 runs. Later, Iftikhar Ahmed played a good cameo of 39 runs but the score was way far from their reach.
Islamabad United have won the game comprehensively and bowled out Quetta Gladiators for 157 runs. They kept on picking up wickets at regular intervals and never let the batters settle in the game. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Hasan Ali picked three wickets each but were a bit expensive for their likes. Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed picked two each and were very much economical.
