Right then, Brisbane Heat are now confirmed out of the competition but Melbourne Renegades haven't quite guaranteed a place in the finals and there are still 3 teams that can overtake them. Two of them, Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers are going head-to-head right about now in Perth and the winner could potentially get into that 4th place. You can switch tabs and check our coverage of that game. Cheers!
Jake Fraser-McGurk is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his sensational knock of 95. Jake says that he is just happy to get the win and tear it up in the final game and is very happy to contribute. Adds that cricket is a game where you feel terrible when you are unable to contribute and ends by applauding the fans for supporting them.
The Presentation ceremony...
Brisbane Heat will be gutted not to have been able to defend that total but it was just that sort of an evening where the batters just went hard at the bowlers and got their way. The Heat pacers started off decently but it was the spin attack that couldn't come to the fore and even after a double blow from Spencer Johnson in that crucial Power Surge, they couldn't take full advantage of it. Paul Walter gave them a glimmer of hope as he sent Jake Fraser-McGurk and Will Sutherland packing in the same over but it was just a bit too late.
Needing 197 for the win was difficult enough at the Marvel Stadium but Melbourne Renegades needed to do it in about 19 or so overs to take their net run rate above the rest. The Renegades did lose a couple of wickets early on but went hard at the bowlers and soon enough, they were out in front of the required rate. Then came the stand between Jake Fraser-McGurk and debutant Ollie Peake well over 80 runs and it was all bout Jake there. Peake departed but Jake went on to stay on for a long while as players around him kept on getting out. Jake fell too and it seemed a bit nervous at the death but Fergus O'Neill pulled off a fine cameo and got them the win in 18 overs.
What a game and the reigning champions, Brisbane Heat are out of the competition! One of the games of the season and Melbourne Renegades have pulled off a remarkable chase thanks to Jake Fraser-McGurk finally joining the party.

FOUR! That's it, Fergus O'Neill has done it for Melbourne Renegades and they have snatched the fourth and final playoff place for now. Banged in a bit over middle, Fergus just steps out and backs away before pulling it flat and back past the bowler into the long on fence. THE RENEGADES WIN BY 3 WICKETS!

SIX! BANG! What a hit from Fergus O'Neill and Brisbane Heat should be done and dusted now. Length ball from Xavier Bartlett at the stumps, Fergus O'Neill climbs into the shot and swings it away over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

Back of a length and over middle, cramping up the batter, Tom Rogers just dabs it down to short cover and sets off for the single. Another direct hit missed at the bowler's end.

Back of a length and at the body, nudged away through square leg for one. 14 needed off 18 but the Renegades need to finish it off inside 19 overs to get that net run rate up above the other teams.
Fergus O'Neill is in next.
OUT! CAUGHT! Would you believe it? 'Tall Paul' aka Paul Walter has done it again and Brisbane Heat are alive and kicking now. Another off-paced delivery, bowled into the pitch and outside off. Sutherland moves across to the off side, leans back and pulls it flat but straight to Xavier Bartlett at deep mid-wicket and he makes no mistake. Melbourne Renegades are now 7 down and still need 15 runs for the win.
