Jacob Bethell wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says it's a rarity to win the award despite coming onto the losing side but feels proud of his team to drag the game so close. Tells he has enjoyed playing in the BBL and for Melbourne Renegades, it's a different kind of cricket but enjoyable. Shares it's a dream to play Ashes and hopes he gets an opportunity
Melbourne Renegades had their moments but the one they will regret the most is during the first innings when Billy Stanlake got injured, Hobart Hurricanes bowled some part-timers in middle and they could have capitalized a lot more during that phase. Although they lost a lot of wickets in heaps, we still feel they could have done a lot better. However, Jacob Bethell showed his brilliance and played a brilliant innings to single handedly score more than half of Renegades' score. However, it turned out well short. Maybe another 15-20 runs would have made the difference.
Hobart Hurricanes had a par score to chase it down and Owen's started with a 17 run over against Jacob Bethell to set the tone but Melbourne Renegades stuck with spinners mostly as it was giving them more purchase off the deck. Nikhil Chaudhary then played a quick cameo but he too fell. Matthew Wade rolled back the years and played a really good innings to get the required rate down. He too fell but it was a job tailor made for someone like David who showed maturity once again in his innings to get his team over the line.
What a game of cricket! Such an entertaining one if you are a neutral but lot riding if you are a Hobart Hurricanes or a Melbourne Renegades fan. So much to talk but we will start with the bigger picture. Hobart Hurricanes go on top with the win and Melbourne Renegades on the other hand are losing their grip to stay in hunt for the next round. It was a must win for them but they have failed to win the crunch moments.

SIX! BRUTUAL from David! He backs his powers so much! A low full toss tailing on the pads. David whacks it behind square on the leg side for a biggie. Not a good delivery under pressure.

Another dot! Very full and around off, David steps across again and swings but misses and gets hit on the pads. A huge appeal for LBW but turned down. Tom Rogers quickly turns to his skipper to take it upstairs. UltraEdge shows NO BAT. Ball Tracking shows the impact is outside the line. NOT OUT IT IS!
