So that is it from this series! Bangladesh creates history as they win their first bilateral series against Sri Lanka. The series though ended with a sour note for them as Sri Lanka ended the series with a comprehensive win and have lots of positives to take back home. We hope you enjoyed the coverage of the series. We look forward to seeing you for future games. Till then, goodbye and take care!
Kusal Perera, the Sri Lankan skipper, says that they needed a win and it is good to win here, and when he gets set while batting, then he looks to bat out there for a longer time. Feels that he took chances early on and when he got set, he tried to change his gears. Praises their bowling department and also opines that their fielding has been brilliant too and in the first two games, their batting let them down.
Mushfiqur Rahim, THE MAN OF THE SERIES, says that the boys worked really hard for this series and they came up with good plans and executed well. Feels that when you play 15+ years, you need to contribute more and more for your country and he looks to do that. Further praises Sri Lanka, as they always come hard. Adds that he enjoys the pressure while batting and he uses that to bat well.
Dushmantha Chameera, THE MAN OF THE MATCH, says that he is very happy with how he bowled, and coming back after losing the first two games was good. Tells that he was not under pressure coming into this series and he is relaxed. Adds that he is pleased with his role with Sri Lanka.
Tamim Iqbal, the Bangladesh skipper, says that they have won the series but feels that they did not play a complete game but opines that they need to work on a lot of areas. Says that Sri Lanka had an attacking mindset coming into the game and it worked out for them. Tells that the seniors are contributing big but he says that he believes in his youngsters and feels that if they start to perform well, then they will start playing better.
It was a complete performance from Sri Lanka. Earlier in the day, they won the toss and opted to bat. A decision that proved to be a good one. Skipper, Kusal Perera led from the front as the tourists managed to get to 286 on the back of a century from the skipper and a fifty from Dhananjaya de Silva. Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowler for Bangladesh as he managed to finish with a 4-fer but overall Bangladesh did not look good with the ball or in the field.
It was the Dushmantha Chameera show with the ball. As his pace and aggression proved to be too good for the Bangladeshi batsman. He derailed the Bangladesh chase even before it could get off the station. He finished with superb figures of 5/16 from his 9. The other bowlers followed suit. Wanindu Hasaranga and debutant Ramesh Mendis both got two wickets while Binura wrapped up his debut with a wicket as well.
Chasing 287, Bangladesh needed a solid start but that did not happen. They lost Naim, Shakib, and Tamim all in Powerplay 1 and with hardly any runs on the board. Mushfiqur and Mosaddek tried to steady the ship but the required run rate kept creeping up and that saw the pressure keep building. Mahmudullah and Mosaddek managed to get fifties but barring that, there was hardly anything to talk about.
A comprehensive win for Sri Lanka and they finish the series with a win and get their first win of World Cup Super League. Bangladesh will be disappointed with their performance with the bat as they never looked in the game with the bat.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! There it is! Game, Set, and Match! Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh and record their first points in the CWC League! A fuller ball on off and middle, Mahmudullah gets low and looks to play the scoop over the keeper, but does not connect well with his shot and only manages a tickle. Niroshan Dickwella hops and takes the catch. SRI LANKA WIN BY 97 RUNS!

FOUR! A full toss around off, this is punched through covers for a boundary. Also, brings up Mahmudullah's fifty here. Has been good throughout the series but his knock today, will not result in a Bangladesh win!

FOUR BYES. Slower length ball on middle and leg, Mahmudullah looks to pull but misses and the keeper fails to collect the ball too and the ball runs away to the fine leg fence.

OUT! CAUGHT! Islam departs and Hasaranga picks up his second wicket. The 9th wicket falls and the curtains are closing on this game. This is a googly around off, Shoriful Islam skips down the track and looks to bang this only manages a thin tickle. Niroshan Dickwella does well to pouch this one. Sri Lanka would want to close the game out now.
