How does the points table look? The Zouks have displaced the Warriors in second spot, swapping their third place with them. We now take a day's break and return on Tuesday, 25th August, 2020 for another double header, but from a different venue. The caravan shifts to Port Of Spain for a week. Barbados Tridents meet the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, followed by the Guyana Amazon Warriors-Jamaica Tallawahs clash. The action begins from 10 am local (1400 GMT). Join us then. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious St Lucia Zouks skipper, Daren Sammy, on giving the ball to Chemar Holder the final over, Sammy says that he needed experience and hence, turned to Williams at the death. However, he praises the young Chemar for strutting his stuff. On the team changes, Sammy says that one was forced but the exclusion of Saad Bin Zafar was because there were plenty of left-handers in the Warriors' line-up and also, they have not been finishing well with the bat, which is something Javelle Glen provides. On the message to the team, Sammy says that he always wanted leadership, not from himself but from the management. Thanks them for backing him and getting Andy Flower as a coach who knows what he is doing and leading the team in the right direction.
Guyana Amazon Warriors skipper, Chris Green, admits that it was a disappointing result. Puts it to the Powerplay where the Zouks were brilliant with the ball. But wants to look at the positives and sees the recovery, which shows how good they can be. On the message to the players, Chris says that he just let the youngsters make their calls. Wants his side to keep learning and focus on doing well.
ROSTON CHASE HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. On being touted as a Test player, smiles and says that he just looks to play cricket. Does not matter what people say. Is happy to play for St Lucia. Believes it was a good win and remembers the talk after their first loss where the message was that normally, they lose by big margins but this was not that big. That gave them confidence and they started winning. On his counter-attack in the Powerplay in spite of early wickets, Roston says that it was still the Powerplay and he wanted to maximize the fielding restrictions. Then, he says that the plan was to bat till 15 overs along with Nabi and then go big. Nabi did get out but he batted on and the plan worked out. When he bowled his final over and got tonked for six on the last ball, Chase says that he was disappointed but also understands that such thigs happen in the game of cricket.
Earlier on, the Zouks themselves were in trouble at 42/4 before Roston Chase and Mohammad Nabi bailed them out. The former, quite contrary to his image as a Test cricketer, played a whirlwind knock, taking his team to a competitive total. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
Excellent bowling display by the Zouks. With Sammy not bowling, there would always be pressure on the bowling side, with just 5 bowlers. But every one of them came to the party. Nabi and Kuggeleijn stifled the Warriors in the Powerplay while Williams and Chase handled the middle and death overs. Chemar Holder, who struggled throughout the innings had redemption time in the final over, when he managed to defend 12, going for just 2.
The seeds of this loss might have been sown in the Powerplay of this chase itself. At 7/3, they were in tatters and it was the trio of Hemraj, Pooran and Paul, which kept the Warriors in the chase. They recovered, with batters playing around Pooran but once he fell for 68, they fell short.
Andre Fletcher is pumped up. So is Daren Sammy. They feel they have pulled off a magnificent win here. In a contest between two good bowling units, the one which held its nerve better, won.

RUN OUT MISSED! Comedy of errors. Rutherford looks to work it to the leg side but misses and is hit on the pads. He sets off for the single but it is a suicidal one, as it is just adjacent to the bowler. Green sends him back but Rutherford forces his captain to run through. Green sacrifices his wicket but oh wait... while trying to pick the ball up, he slips! Green completes the single. Kesrick cannot believe it. He is on the ground. 4-0-32-2 for him tonight. 13 needed from the final over!

OUT! CHOPPED ON! Is that the turning point? A slower ball, outside off, Pooran looks to run this down to third man but misses. The ball comes in, takes the inside edge and hits the timber! Pooran throws his bat in the air in disgust. Cannot take his team home but the kid played well. 68 from 49 balls. However, the match might be gone now. 21 needed from 11 balls.

DRINKS BREAK. The Warriors' supporters would be feeling much better now. At 7/3 in the 5th over, they must have felt game over but this pair of Hemraj and Pooran has done well. The team has slowly caught up with the Zouks' score, after lagging behind a lot. They scored 77 in their last 10. Guyana need 86. The Zouks have bowled well so far. OUT! CAUGHT! Two in the over for Kuggeleijn and the Warriors are in a lot of trouble. The short ball is not Hetmyer's ally. He is susceptible to that when bowled at pace and Kuggeleijn has that. Dug in, around middle, Shimron looks to pull but is not in full control of that. Gets a top edge which balloons in the air. Great line. Well directed, right at the shoulder of the batsman. 144 more needed for Guyana in 111 balls.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors' assistant coach, Rayon Griffith is up for a chat. Griffith says that one batsman in the top four has to bat deep to chase this total down. The players are out in the middle again. Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj are the openers for the Warriors. Mohammad Nabi to start off proceedings to King. Here we go...
145 to win for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Can their batsmen compliment their bowlers? Or do St Lucia Zouks have enough on the board? Stay tuned for another low-scoring thriller...
Ashmead Nedd says that he enjoyed his performance today. Stresses that he bowled to a plan and it worked. Adds that it is exciting to work with the likes of Chris Green, Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer. On being asked about his ambition, he states that it is to play Test cricket for West Indies. On his feedback from his dad after yesterday's performance, Ashmead says that he was congratulated and asked to keep being consistent.
Change is a constant. Chris Green abides by that saying. Almost every over, we witnessed a bowling change. The spinners stuck to their task, not giving much away and even though there were some runs given towards the end, it was not at an alarming rate. Green, Hemraj, Tahir and Nedd finished with figures of 12-0-75-5. Great effort. Here is one of those giving an interview...
After electing to bat, some mindless cricket saw the Zouks reduced to 42/4. Roston Chase then hung around, threading partnerships of 57 and 43 with Mohammad Nabi and Javelle Glen respectively, making a fine 66 himself. Only time will tell how good will that be on this deck.
Hmmm... after seeing what happened yesterday, let's not say anything. 144 looks 10 runs short on paper, but we saw 118 being defended by the Warriors. This pitch is not the easiest to bat on and do not forget - this is a contest between two teams good in bowling.

Good yorker, around middle, worked wide of long on for a couple. ST LUCIA ZOUKS FINISH ON 144/7!

OUT! Appeal for a catch, not out says the umpire, but Chase walks! A short ball, around off, Roston looks to pull but misses. There is a noise as the ball goes through towards Nicholas Pooran and the Warriors appeal but the umpire shakes his head. However, Chase does not wait for the umpire's decision and heads off. End of a fantastic knock. Keeping the Zouks alive in the contest. Well played.
The skipper, Daren Sammy, walks in at number 8, replacing Glen. The batsman crossed while the catch was being taken. So Chase would be on strike.

OUT! CAUGHT! Glen departs after a useful knock. A short ball, around middle, Javelle pulls it into the shorter side of the boundary on the leg side but hits it into the wind. NOT OUT. Full and around middle, almost a yorker, Glen looks to flick but it balloons off his pads back to the bowler. Paul collects and then appeals for the caught and bowled. The umpires have a chat and then refer it upstairs. Replays show that the ball hit the bat, then onto the ground, then the pad and back to Paul.
Hmmm... anything interesting? Keemo Paul has appealed for a caught and bowled. The umpires are not sure whether it is a bump ball or not. It is referred upstairs and the soft signal is... NOT OUT. The delivery is legal. Seems like the ball hit the bat, then the ground, then the pad and then into Paul's hands. Should remain not out. NOT OUT flashes on the giant screen.

DRINKS BREAK. Hard to say who is on top. Both sides are not known for their batting prowess. That is showing in the Zouks' batting, who are unnecessarily playing ultra-aggressive shots. They are losing wickets at will and it has only been Roston Chase who has batted sensibly. He has found an able ally in Mohammad Nabi and if they bat deep, they can get to 150 which is a great score on this deck. Chris Green has made innumerous bowling changes and so far, they have been more or less successful. Interesting passage of play awaits.

The umpires make their way out to the middle. The Warriors, the home team, make their way follow them. We have a new opening pair for the Zouks today. No Rahkeem Cornwall, so Andre Fletcher will be partnered by youngster Kimani Melius. Like yesterday, Chris Green will start off proceedings. Fletcher to face. Here we go!
PITCH REPORT - Tom Moody has a look at the light roller going on the surface. Observes a thick covering of catchy grass, which is the reason for the extra bounce. Expects another run-fest but feels there is something for the bowlers as well.
Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI) - Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor, Nicholas Pooran(WK), Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Odean Smith (IN FOR NAVEEN-UL-HAQ), Chris Green(C), Ashmead Nedd and Imran Tahir.
Guyana Amazon Warriors captain, Chris Green, says that he was in two minds and was going to bat first looking at the deterioration yesterday. But now, feels the batsmen can chase it down if his bowlers can put pressure on the Zouks and restrict them to a low total. Wants his batsmen to just assess the conditions and build partnerships. Feels early wickets are the key. Believes his spinners can do well on this surface and cannot wait to unleash Odean Smith and Keemo Paul. Adds that it is the only change in his team, with Smith coming in for Naveen-ul-Haq, who is rested, considering the long nature of this tournament.
St Lucia Zouks (Playing XI) - Andre Fletcher(WK), Kimani Melius (IN FOR RAHKEEM CORNWALL), Mark Deyal, Najibullah Zadran, Roston Chase, Javelle Glen (IN FOR SAAD BIN ZAFAR), Mohammad Nabi, Daren Sammy(C), Scott Kuggeleijn, Kesrick Williams and Chemar Holder (IN FOR OBED MCCOY).
St Lucia Zouks skipper, Daren Sammy, says that the pitch looks much better today but he is wary of the way it played out yesterday. So he backs his batting line-up to put up a good total and then his bowlers to defend it. Admits that he did read the weather forecast and the threat of rain but looking at the conditions now, he is not too bothered about that. Praises his batters for improving every game and credits Andy Flower for bringing his experience to the table. Informs that they have made three changes. Rahkeem Cornwall has been rested and Kimani Melius gets a change. He is from the Emerging Players pool. Then says that Obed McCoy is not playing and he will be replaced by another exciting youngster, Chemar Holder. Sammy remembers the final change as well, with Saad Bin Zafar going out for Javelle Glen.
TOSS - Time for the spin of the coin. Chris Green flips it, Heads is the call from Daren Sammy and Heads it is. ST LUCIA ZOUKS WILL BAT FIRST.
WEATHER - There was a little bit of rain this morning but since then, it has been a beautiful day. The sun continues to shine brightly.
Back after a mini-break! After a high-scoring contest between the Tridents and the Knight Riders, what can we expect from the Warriors and the Zouks? Both are known for their bowling. Will we witness another low-scoring thriller?
