Danni Wyatt is the Player of the Match for her match-winning knock. She says she was chill out there. Adds that Ryana Macdonald-Gay bowled well but she knew that if she took it deep, they had a chance. Mentions that she is buzzing with the win and it is good to finally get over the line. Says that, they just want to enjoy it out there, and they have had a few successful seasons before, and it is just about winning the big moments in this format which haven't gone their way.
... TIME FOR PRESENTATIONS ...
Chasing a revised DLS target of 83, Wyatt and Smriti Mandhana opened the innings for the Southern Brave. Wyatt quickly found her rhythm, playing some exquisite strokes, while Mandhana was unfortunate to be run out for just two in the third set. Maia Bouchier came in and made an impact with three boundaries, scoring 16 before being bowled. Freya Kemp had a brief stay at the crease, falling for three. Wyatt, however, remained solid, anchoring the innings with her fluent batting. She ensured the required run rate was kept in check, with Chloe Tryon providing valuable support. The Oval Invincibles managed to stretch the game to the final set, but Wyatt’s composure under pressure proved decisive. With six runs needed off the last set, and just two runs from the first three balls, Wyatt held her nerve and launched a six to take her team over the line.
That’s the game, and what a finish from Danielle Wyatt! With four runs needed off the final two balls, Wyatt delivers in style, smashing a six to seal the victory. The Southern Brave Women secure their first win of the Women’s Hundred 2024, keeping their title defense alive with a seven-wicket triumph over the Oval Invincibles Women in a rain-curtailed match.

SIX! Take a bow, Danni Wyatt! She finishes things off in style under a lot of pressure as well. Sophia Smale flights this up, full and on middle, Danni Wyatt knows there is no protection in the deep on the leg side, moves down across and slog sweeps it, connects it so well that it sails over the deep square leg fence for a biggie. Southern Brave Women win by 7 wickets and just about stay alive in this season!
