Right! That's all from this game. The Thunder have been sent packing. Brisbane Heat will meet Perth Scorchers in the Challenger for the place in the final. The game is set to be played on 4th February 2021. The action will start at 1945 local (0845 GMT). Do join us for that game. Until then, goodbye and take care!
Sam Heazlett has been named Player of the Match for his fantastic batting performance.
Earlier in the game, the Thunder posted a decent score on the board after struggling in the first 15 overs of the innings. The impetus came from Cutting towards the final 4 overs that helped them cross 150. Khawaja and Ferguson stabilized things early in the innings after Hales departed early but they couldn't go big. Billings played a handy knock of 34 too but it was Cutting's 18-ball 34 that took them to a good score. Talking about Heat's bowling. They were superb and kept things tight in the part of the innings. Swepson and Steketee got two wickets apiece. They were smashed for a few in the last 4 overs. However, their batters after a bit of struggle in the early part of the innings cruised to win.
The Thunder were superb in the first 10 overs. They strangled the Heat in the chase and didn't allow them to free their arms. They dried up the runs and made life difficult for the Heat batters. However, they failed to strike regularly and eventually, once Heazlett got going, things went out of their hands quickly.
Things didn't start well for Heat. They lost their openers by the 3rd over of the game. Heazlett along with Labuschagne dig in and added 56 runs but they came at a very slow pace. Heazlett struggled the first 30-odd balls of his innings and found it tough to get going. Labuschagne fell in the 12th over. Peirson joined Heazlett and things changed dramatically for the Heat. Both the batters went bang, bang and scored briskly. The Power Surge fetched 27 for them and eventually, they cruised to victory with 5 balls left in the match.
An excellent run chase from the Heat and they are one step closer to the trophy. The Thunder are out of the competition. At one point, it looked like they have left a little too much for the final 10 but they backed themselves to get whatever was needed. Credit to Heazlett for digging in, battling hard and then taking the team over the line. And a brilliant knock from Peirson as well. He did the same in the last game and has repeated the same here, played a vital knock and stayed till the end.

FOUR! Yes! He can! What an innings from him. A short ball around middle and leg, Heazlett pulls it over square leg and it races to the fence in the deep. What a performance from him. Brisbaine Heat win by 7 wickets.
Chance for Heazlett to finish things off for his side. Can he hit the winning run?

A dot! Another slower one from Milne and Peirson misses the pull altogether. Just one needed now.

SIX! Punch of the gloves by the two batsmen in the middle. A low full toss on middle, Peirson powers it over deep square leg. Hits the fence on the full. The umpire wants to confirm it. Replays roll in and they confirm that it is six. Scores level.

Another dot! Another change of pace from Milne. Short and wide, slower as well. Jimmy looks to hit it over point but misses.

Good slower one from him. It is short and just outside off, Peirson looks to run it down to third man but misses.

In the air... dropped! Sangha is the man in the deep. A short ball around off and middle, Heazlett goes for the pull. He connects but hits it straight to Sangha at deep square leg. The ball dips as it comes closer and he fails to hold on.

FOUR! What a start to the over! A short ball around off, Heazlett moves inside the crease a touch and hammers it via a pull wide of the man at deep square leg. One bounce and into the fence. Just 8 needed now.
12 needed in 12 balls. Adam Milne to continue.

This is brilliant batting from Peirson. Another length ball around off, he gently taps it towards mid on and takes easy two.
