Kraigg Brathwaite collects the trophy and now it's time for the West Indian players to smile for the cameras. Right then, that's all we have from the West Indies tour of Bangladesh. They lost the ODI leg but showed great courage and skills to win the Test series. We look forward to your company in future games. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Victorious West Indian skipper, Kraigg Brathwaite says that it was a team effort and they had a plan which they enjoyed and he is happy with the series win. Regarding his bowling, Kraigg replies that he just wanted to come on and keep it tight. Mentions that it's a very good accomplishment for them. On winning 2-0, he thanks the Almighty and once again calls it a team effort as they stuck to the plans and were very disciplined. It means everything to them, he adds. Tells that they knew they can do it and just stuck to the plans and have proven those people wrong who wrote them off before the series. He is very proud of his boys.
For scoring 231 runs in the series, NKRUMAH BONNER IS CHOSEN FOR THE MAN OF THE SERIES AWARD. Says that the conditions were quite similar to what they have back home and the only difference was that the ball stayed a bit low. Shares that the had a word with the senior guys who advised him to occupy the crease and stay patient. Adds that it is Test cricket and you have to put a price on your wicket and he is happy with the performance.
MAN OF THE MATCH IS RAHKEEM CORNWALL! Says that it was a good performance and the whole team had great energy from the first day. Mentions that he enjoyed the conditions and backed himself to put the ball in the right areas. Tells that you just got to be patient and bowl consistently. Shares that he works a lot on his slip catching and it has helped him in taking some good catches.
Bangladesh skipper, Mominul Haque says that when you lose, it's always disappointing. Counts the positives like the performances of Mehidy, Taijul, Tamim and Rahim. Adds that they thought they will easily chase down the target but unfortunately, their middle order collapsed. Calls Shakib a very big player and tells that his all-round skills were missed.
Rahkeem Cornwall is born to play cricket! He looks very gentle in his bowling approach but has a street smart brain. The giant bowler varies his line, length and flight deceptively and more often than not troubles the batsmen with his extra bounce. Nine wickets in the match, 14 in the series and he is one of the prime reasons for West Indies taking the series. He surely will be one of the front-runners for the Man of the Series award. Stay tuned for the presentation...
It was a Test match where Bangladesh had their moments but they failed to capitalize. We will like to take you to the West Indies' first innings with the bat when they had lost 6 wickets for 266 but from thereon, they were allowed to post a total of 409. Alzarri Joseph and Joshua Da Silva did all the damage and their knocks and partnership eventually turned out to be the difference. Bangladesh's batting in their first attempt was extremely poor as apart from a few handy knocks by Rahim, Liton and Mehidy, there wasn't much fight shown. Handing a big lead cost them dearly and despite a superlative bowling effort in the second innings, they failed to level the series.
Bangladesh will be shocked! They made a terrific comeback with the ball in the second innings and then in pursuit of 231 runs, the hosts started superbly as well. But the wicket of Soumya Sarkar opened the floodgates and West Indies barged into it. Kraigg Brathwaite's spell was very inspirational as the skipper provided a couple of initial breakthroughs and after that, Rahkeen Cornwall once again showed his class. It was a procession for Bangladesh and despite Mehidy Hasan trying his best, they failed to cross the line.
Top stuff from West Indies! The odds were stacked against them but they never lost hope. The victory scripted in the first Test instilled self-belief in the team and despite being inexperienced, despite missing some big players, despite playing in alien conditions, the tourists braved everything and have written a fine chapter of accomplishment in their cricket history. A story of guts and glory as West Indies have won their first Test series in Asia since 2012!

OUT! CAUGHT AT FIRST SLIP! SERIES WIN FOR WEST INDIES! Ecstacy in their camp, agony on the faces of the players of Bangladesh! The West Indian players are jumping in joy, what a win for them! Outstanding catch, it is. A flatter delivery, close to off and turning away, Mehidy gets back to push inside the line but it takes the outside edge and dies in front of Cornwall. The big man is quick to go down low as he snaps it inches above the surface. A massive series win achieved by West Indies as they thump Bangladesh by 17 runs!
