In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, Liam Livingstone signed a contract with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for an incredible INR 8.75 crore. After three seasons with the team, the England all-rounder was released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) last month.
After relocating to the IPL, Livingstone talked about the Royal Challengers’ fervent supporters. With some of the best batting tracks in the IPL and narrower boundaries, the destructive batter believes that playing at RCB’s home field, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, will fit his style of play.
It has a highly fervent fan base. Undoubtedly, it is among the most prominent IPL teams. For me, this is a sort of a new beginning. Bangalore, in my opinion, will be excellent for my game. For me, it’s better than Punjab, even though it’s a tiny bit smaller than some Indian stadiums. With any luck, my game will fit in there,” Livingstone told Reuters.
According to Livingstone, the RCB management brought in some quality players for the forthcoming season of the lucrative league by using their cunning at the auction table. He added that he was excited to be sharing the dressing room with the great Virat Kohli.
We had a great auction, in my opinion. We chose our players wisely, and we have some talented players. I’m rather eager for the team to go out there since I know a number of them quite well. He remarked, “It’s going to be awesome to play with people like Virat.”
It was a pleasure to lead my nation: Liam Livingstone
When Jos Buttler was not available, Livingstone captained England on the West Indies trip. The 31-year-old described it as a gratifying event and that he appreciated being the Three Lions’ leader.
“I enjoyed captaining my country, it’s a very proud moment for anybody to do that … thankfully I’m fit at the moment and it’s great playing something that we love,” stated Livingstone.
Livingstone has scored 939 runs at an average of 28.45 and a strike rate of 162.46 in 39 IPL games. He has scored five half-centuries, with his best coming against the Delhi Capitals last year with 94 off 48 balls. To help RCB win their elusive first-ever trophy is something Livingstone will want to do.
