The first sale for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 is about to take place. The event is set to happen on June 14, and the sale will attract a lot of well-known people. It’s also important to know that the tournament’s fourth round will start on July 31.
At the LPL 2023 auction, there will be a total of 360 players up for bid. It is also thought that each of the five teams that will be there will spend no more than US$500,000.
Also, it’s important to know that some of the players who have already signed with teams were already chosen. There are many famous people, like Babar Azam, Matthew Wade, Matheesha Pathirana, David Miller, and many more. Also, famous Indian cricket player Suresh Raina said that he would also be bidding at the auction.
In the past, the teams in the LPL chose their players through drafts. In 2023, they will hold their first-ever sale, which will be a big change. The Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo will be the venue for the event. The auction will be set up pretty much the same way as the IPL sale. Split into two groups: capped players and uncapped players. Each capped player could sign up for a base price between $10,000 and $50,000.
