The Mohun Bagan Super Giants won their second Indian Super League championship in 2024–2025, and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players congratulated them on their victory. The winning football team in the ISL, the nation’s largest football league, was praised by the cricketing stars of the Lucknow-based team.
It’s interesting to note that RPSG Group, the owners of the LSG team in the IPL, also owns the winning football team.
After winning 17 of its 24 games in the just finished season, the well-liked football team eventually faced the fierce Bengaluru City FC in the grand finale on Saturday, April 12 at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium.
The popular sports were brought together as LSG captain Rishabh Pant acknowledged the achievement and praised the team, sending their warmest regards to the club. Pant also acknowledged Sanjiv Goenka, the team’s owner.
In an X (formerly Twitter) video, Pant congratulated Mohun Bagan and Sanjeev sir on their incredible triumph at the ISL Cup.
“Congratulations for winning ISL Trophy,” LSG pacer Akash Deep said in the same video following Pant.

The Lucknow franchise is looking strong.
LSG is poised to take home the trophy in the lucrative event, even though the Mohun Bagan team had a great season. The team has participated in six games, winning four of them and losing just two. In their most recent game, they defeated the Gujarat Titans by a final margin of six wickets.
Currently ranked third in the IPL 2025 points standings, the team’s next matchup is scheduled against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Their goal is to replicate the football club’s achievements by continuing their successful run in the tournament.
