The IPL 2023 is nearing its thrilling conclusion, with only 13 league matches remaining. All ten teams are still in the hunt for a berth in the postseason and will be giving their all on the field to secure a position in the top four. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag considers the Lucknow Super Giants to be one of the tournament’s most balanced teams. He added that the Krunal Pandya-led team has performed well away from home but not so well at their home stadium.

Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who was also present on the panel, praised wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma of the Punjab Kings for his outstanding performance this season and referred to him as a crucial member of the team.

“Jitesh Sharma has been a valuable contributor for PBKS, striking the ball at a good clip at the close of the innings. He is providing Punjab with the necessary drive and momentum in the final four or five overs, which they have lacked in previous seasons. Consequently, his contribution with the bat cannot be minimized, as stated by Gavaskar.
Notably, Jitesh has scored 260 runs in 11 innings with a strike rate of 160.49 and an average of 26 runs per strike. The 29-year-old scored 49 off 27 against the Mumbai Indians in Mohali during Match 46. Additionally, the wicketkeeper batter has caused five dismissals while wearing wicket-keeping gloves.
On May 13, the nighttime match will feature the Punjab Kings versus the Delhi Capitals. The Shikhar Dhawan-led squad is ranked eighth on the IPL points table with five wins from 11 matches and will seek to win their remaining three contests in order to qualify for the playoffs.
