Makhaya Ntini, a former cricketer for South Africa, spoke forward to praise Kagiso Rabada, the team’s premier pacer, for his years of reliable play. Rabada received acclaim for his outstanding performance in the first innings of the first Test match against India.
Day 1 of the first Test saw Kagiso Rabada bowl 17 overs, during which he claimed five outstanding wickets while also giving up 44 runs. Makhaya Ntini said that Rabada is among the best products to come out of South Africa after seeing his performance, but he thought he would be even better if the team didn’t play many Test matches each year.
Kagiso Rabada reached 500 wickets (across forms) for South Africa with his five-wicket haul, and he will be eager to add to that total on Day 2.
“He’s already at the top. Regarding those individuals, regarding those bowlers, they have surpassed the 400-mark, and KG is attempting to reach the 300-mark. However, India Today quoted Ntini as saying, “We have a huge problem.”
“You play two Test matches a year. What does that mean? Is it possible for Rabada to persevere until he reaches that particular milestone? The type of games (quantity and formats of matches) that South Africa would play against other nations would not be simple, he continued.
Your nation is your top priority. Makhaya Ntini
Ntini also emphasized how important it is to represent your country and how, in an era where franchised cricket leagues are sweeping the globe, a cricket player’s top focus should be representing their country.
“Not at all! You prioritize your country. Consider Kagiso as an example. How many Test matches has he played and how long has he been an IPL player? “The biggest mistake Gerald Coetzee will make is to believe that he is going to receive a million rands and should act accordingly,” Ntini stated.
