Making history, Riyan Parag became the first cricket player to hit six straight fifties in Twenty20 matches.

In the present Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag has been playing terrific cricket for Assam.

On Friday, October 27, he made history by being the first cricket player to knock six half-centuries in a row in Twenty20 cricket. He accomplished the amazing accomplishment with the help of his undefeated 33-ball 57 against Kerala.

Assam’s captain, Riyan Parag, won the toss and chose to bowl first at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. With lucky captain Sanju Samson making just eight runs in his 20 overs, Kerala could only muster 127 runs. Parag bowled four overs and finished with statistics of 1/17 prior to his heroic half-century. With identical figures of 2/21, Mrinmoy Dutta and Avinov Choudhury were the stars with the ball. Sibsankar Roy contributed a wicket as well.

With 27 runs needed off of 14 balls, the Kerala bowlers put Assam on the mat at 101/8 in response to their furious bowling. Nevertheless, Assam reached the objective with three balls remaining, courtesy to Parag’s blitzkrieg. It’s fascinating to note that Parag finished his innings with just one four and six sixes. The fact that this victory ended Kerala’s six-game winning streak makes it more memorable.

After this victory, Riyan Parag team moved up to third place in Group B, behind Himachal Pradesh and Kerala.

The 21-year-old concluded the group phase with 440 runs in seven games at an amazing average of 110 and a strike rate of 192.98, vaulting him to the top of the list of top scorers.

Due to his underwhelming performances in the Indian Premier League, Parag has drawn a lot of criticism on social media. The right-handed batter’s average after 54 IPL games is a pitiful 16.22. He does, however, have age on his side, and the Indian domestic season’s encouraging start will undoubtedly boost his confidence moving forward.
