Domestic veteran Mandeep Singh has decided to leave Tripura before of the 2025-26 domestic season, concluding his one-year tenure with the squad.
Mandeep captained Tripura in all forms during the 2024-25 season, appearing in six Ranji Trophy matches, six Vijay Hazare Trophy games, and seven Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches. Although Tripura failed to go past the group rounds in all three events, the ace batter enjoyed a standout season on the individual level.
In the Ranji Trophy, he hit an undefeated 124 and five half-centuries, scoring at least fifty runs in every game he played. He also scored three fifties in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with the highest score of 94 against Bengal, and two half-centuries in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the main domestic 20-over competition.

Mandeep Singh who switched to Tripura in 2024 after 15 years with Punjab, captained the side across formats last season.
During his tenure with Punjab, he led them to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in 2023-24, ending the team’s 30-year drought in the competition. His next team for the 2025-26 season is yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, India batter Hanuma Vihari has moved from Andhra to Tripura for the upcoming season. The Andhra Cricket Association has granted him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to the 31-year-old, clearing his transfer. Vihari, who has represented India in 16 Tests and played 131 First-Class matches, has not been guaranteed the captaincy of Tripura as of now.
Tripura, who will compete in the Elite division of both red and white-ball formats in 2025-26, are set to open their season with a Ranji Trophy clash against Services on October 15.
