On Tuesday, March 25, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by an exciting 11 runs at the massive Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad thanks to a fast 20 off 15 balls from Marcus Stoinis.
There’s a reason why the Australian all-rounder is known as “The Hulk.” He is among the most powerful batsmen in cricket, and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match No. 5, his strength was briefly demonstrated.
At No. 6, Marcus Stoinis walked out to bat and only managed a single off his first six balls.
However, he gained the confidence he required in the thirteenth over after hitting a boundary off R Sai Kishore.
Following a few overs, Stoinis caught a back-of-a-length delivery from Mohammed Siraj and hit his maiden maximum while playing for the Punjab Kings with a flat pull shot over deep mid-wicket. Without observing the action on the pitch, a female security official was passing by when the ball struck her. This did not help her cause because she was hit in the right leg. Her health was a concern for the officials and fans. Fortunately, though, she appeared to bounce back from the blow quickly. But there will undoubtedly be some swelling in the spot where she was struck.

In the IPL 2025, Punjab Kings are off to a winning start.
In his first game as Punjab captain, Shreyas Iyer played brilliantly, but Stoinis was removed for 20 off 15 balls. With five fours and nine sixes in 97 off 42 balls, the Mumbai batsman stayed undefeated. Priyansh Arya (47) and Shashank Singh (44*) provided him with outstanding support as Punjab scored 243/5 in their 20 overs.
The Titans responded with half-centuries from Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, as well as forceful knocks from Shubman Gill and Sherfane Rutherford. But the former champions lost the match by 11 runs, finishing at 232/5.
