KL Rahul To assist the Delhi Capitals (DC) continue their undefeated IPL 2025 run, Rahul struck a game-winning knock in their most recent match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Former Indian bowler Varun Aaron and legendary South African wicketkeeper-batter Mark Boucher discussed their crucial innings under trying circumstances.
At one point in the chase, the Capitals appeared to be in serious trouble, but Rahul’s 93 off 53 was the difference in what was a rare instance where the batters thought the pitch at the Chinnaswamy was difficult. Rahul, on the other hand, maintained his poise and outperformed the hosts.
KL Rahul was commended by Boucher, who also noted how challenging the chase appeared and how Rahul’s innings separated the two teams.
There was nothing simple about that victory—it was a difficult hunt. Royal Challengers Bengaluru was back in the game at one point. They took early wickets, but it still felt like the total might be a few runs short. With wickets dropping all around him and a high run rate to chase, KL Rahul was under a lot of pressure when he came in. This innings was even better, especially under these circumstances, than the masterpiece he played the other night in Chennai. Boucher told JioHotstar, “He’s looking great, and the celebration at the end showed how much this knock meant to him.”
Varun Aaron, a former pacer for the RCB and DC, was also full of praise for the knock that changed the game. Playing at home, according to Aaron, would have energised him. He also said it was the ideal retaliation against the Bengaluru team for not keeping him in 2017.
This is his home field, and he values it greatly. He was born and raised in Bengaluru, his home. He has frequently been moved up and down the batting order, but tonight’s victory was obviously motivated by something. Perhaps it’s because he wasn’t kept by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He loves to play for them, I knew that. He is now demonstrating to the Bengaluru and RCB supporters that this is still his stadium—his arena—by playing for Delhi,” Aaron stated.
