England (ENG) has announced their playing XI for the second one-day international (ODI) of the series against the West Indies (WI) at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. The hosts enjoy a 1-0 lead in the series after defeating the visiting side by 238 runs in the first ODI at Edgbaston, and have made no changes other than a forced one owing to Jamie Overton’s injury.
The right-arm pacer has broken his right hand’s little finger and will miss the rest of the series. According to the ECB, Overton will undergo rehabilitation to ensure a rapid recovery.
Matthew Potts has replaced him in the second ODI. Apart from that, England will have the same team as in the first ODI.

What happened in the first ODI between England and the West Indies?
England dominated the opening one-day international with both bat and ball. The host team scored 400/8 after batting first. Jacob Bethell was the top batter, scoring 82 (53). Every batsman in England’s top seven contributed runs. Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, and Will Jacks all played well.
With the ball, England benefited from the scoreboard pressure. The home team constantly took wickets and kept control of the visiting team. The 2019 World Cup victors dismissed the two-time World Champions for 162, securing a decisive victory and putting them ahead 1-0 in the series.
