Rajasthan Royals (RR) set Punjab Kings (PBKS) a goal of 206 runs in the 18th game of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) in an attempt to win the third game of the season. With a strong effort by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 67 off 45 balls, RR amassed 205 runs while batting first. Riyan Parag added a scorching 43 off 25 balls, and captain Sanju Samson produced a rapid 38 off 26 balls.
RR took four wickets in the opening seven overs of the second innings, bringing PBKS down to 43 for 4 as they chased the enormous score of 206. Jofra Archer, who took two wickets during his spell—both bowled—was vital in strengthening the hold.
After that, Glenn Maxwell joined Nehal Wadhera at the crease to start rebuilding the innings.

With Glenn Maxwell (29 off 19) and Nehal Wadhera (43 off 30) on the crease, PBKS needed 96 runs from the final seven overs and were 110 for 4 at the end of the thirteenth over.
PBKS was at 110 for 4 at the end of the 13th over, requiring 96 runs from the last 42 balls. Wadhera’s encouraging 43 off 30 and Maxwell’s 29 off 19 were not enough to overcome RR’s increasing pressure and disciplined bowling. In the end, RR’s bowlers maintained composure and secured a convincing victory. Archer’s match-defining stint earned him Player of the Match when he finished with figures of 3 for 25.
