Mayank Yadav, a 22-year-old star bowler for India, has had a wild start to his international career. Mayank Yadav just earned his India debut, playing against Bangladesh, after becoming well-known for his brief stint with the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.
Following his time in the IPL, he recovered from a side strain and an abdominal ailment. As a result of his performances, the BCCI is considering including him in the squad for the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar series.
The BCCI was keeping an eye on Mayank Yadav’s performance following the series against Bangladesh, and he was scheduled to be included in India’s travelling reserves for the visit to Australia. But the child is out with an injury once more. Devendra Sharma, Mayank’s personal coach, recently spoke out regarding Mayank’s circumstances.
According to Telegraph India, Devendra Sharma stated, “Mayank (who is presently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence on the outskirts of Bengaluru) has not suffered a new injury, but he has been advised not to play now as they’re looking to have him back for the England ODIs (in January 2025).”
Additionally, a BCCI official disclosed the specifics of Mayank Yadav’s injury issues. According to their opinion, he might also have a stress fracture in his back.
“His back seems to be having some issues… It might potentially be a stress fracture. He may participate in the Ranji Trophy starting in the fourth or fifth round, as per the previous recommendation from the NCA (National Cricket Academy), but that is no longer feasible. “He’s out for a while again,” the official declared.
