At Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, two clubs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will square off in Match 33. On the points table, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are notably ranked sixth and ninth, respectively.
Both clubs won their most recent games, although they have only won two of their last six games. MI defeated DC in a hard-fought match. To push MI over the 200-run threshold, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir took advantage of starts from Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav.
Karun Nair, DC’s Impact Player, was able to stop Deepak Chahar’s strike on the first ball of the chase. DC was on the course thanks to Nair’s blitzkrieg, and they were ready to win it by the time he was fired. The chase was then derailed when Karn Sharma, MI’s Impact Player, came on to cause a middle-order collapse. Ultimately, DC’s innings concluded with a 12-run loss from a solid position and a hat-trick of run-outs.
In contrast, SRH ended a four-match losing trend and unleashed their best version of themselves to destroy PBKS. Other batters’ cameos helped Shreyas Iyer to a quick fifty, which propelled PBKS to a massive 245. On the level terrain of Hyderabad, SRH felt completely at home.
With the help of Travis Head’s 66, Abhishek Sharma used good fortune to get the best individual score in the IPL while chasing. With an over and a half remaining, SRH secured the second-highest successful chase in IPL history, with Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan completing the formalities.

Player Battles to Watch Out for MI vs SRH, Match No. 33
1. Pat Cummins vs Jasprit Bumrah
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strong batting lineup, especially in the Impact Player era, means that Pat Cummins may not really need to come out to bat. But his record as a batter against India’s Test vice-captain in the IPL would leave some of the best batters in the world envious.
In 2020, Cummins hit Jasprit Bumrah for four sixes in an over – the only time India’s pace ace has been hit for as many sixes in an over in his T20 career. In all, the SRH skipper has scored 52 runs in 31 balls against Bumrah in the IPL at a strike rate of 167.74 and has been dismissed just once. In fact, only three batters have hit more sixes against Bumrah in the league than Cummins’s five.
2. Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins
With the ball in hand, Australia’s Test and ODI skipper enjoys a very favourable match-up against his Indian counterpart in the IPL. Rohit Sharma has been struggling for form in the tournament, and Pat Cummins isn’t necessarily doling out any favours if their previous record is anything to go by. Sharma has scored just 31 runs in 25 balls while being dismissed thrice – for an average of 10.33 and a strike rate of 124 – against Cummins.
