On August 13, in the London Spirit vs. Northern Superchargers Hundred 2024 game at Headingley in Leeds, Mitchell Santner outran Michael Pepper with sheer athleticism. Pepper lofted a shot over mid-on off the opening delivery of Reece Topley’s third over. With eyes fixed on the leather, Santner charged backwards as the ball plunged sharply and skittered through the air, grabbing a shocker in the process.
Michael Pepper could only manage three runs as he had to lumber back after the New Zealand spinner’s full-stretch dive.
Other than Ravi Bopara and Keaton Jennings, no other London Spirit batter scored more than thirty runs. Spirit struggled to 111 runs when batting first, but Liam Dawson’s 27-run cameo down the order helped them get there.
Here’s the video of Santner’s spectacular catch:

Superchargers defeat Spirit with the help of rain.
For the Northern Superchargers, Adil Rashid shone with three wickets, while Matthew Pott and Reece Topley both contributed two wickets. The match had to be abandoned after 44 balls were bowled due to rain’s mischievous play during the second session. Superchargers were declared the winners after scoring 64 runs in 44 balls with just one wicket lost, with a 21-run advantage based on the DLS technique.
“Thankfully, the runs came in before the ten balls of rain that followed. We scored those runs (fast) because we played well with the ball and at bat. We have a strong team and are performing admirably at that level of cricket. Hopefully, we make it to the next round. After winning POTM, Rashid commented, “I’m feeling good right now. It was fortunate to put up a nice performance.”

You bowl well sometimes and get hammered other times, that’s cricket for you. Each and every one of us bowled really well. It occasionally may merely be a necessary component of the game. It depends on the bowlers, but sometimes it’s wonderful. It might become challenging to obtain wickets in the middle overs if you are unable to do so up front, he continued.
