[WATCH] IPL 2025: Mitchell Marsh swats Arshad Khan’s delivery over covers for maximum

At Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat Titans (GT), the home team, will play the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Shubman Gill, the GT captain, chose to field first after winning the toss. Digvesh Rathi, who faces a suspension for numerous Code of Conduct violations, was replaced by Shabhaz Ahmed by LSG.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram were the first-inning openers for LSG.

Arshad Khan, a left-arm pacer, entered the game and bowled the powerplay’s second over. Arshad hit the Australian batter with an over-pitched delivery on the third ball of the over.

Marsh swayed his blade to crush a delivery that was put a little wider from the stumps over the area of extra cover for a massive maximum. In addition to hitting his first sixer of the evening, Marsh also achieved his first century in the first innings of the Indian Premier League.

The 2022 champions, meanwhile, are now leading the points table with 18 points and have already advanced to the IPL 2025 playoffs. In order to put themselves in a strong position for the playoffs, the Shubman Gill-led club will try to win the game in front of the home fans in order to earn two points. The final league game they have scheduled for this year is against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Meanwhile, during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), LSG was eliminated from the competition. They will want to finish this year on a positive note by defeating GT and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their final match. They are playing tonight’s match as a dead rubber and currently sit seventh in the points table with five victories from 12 games.
