After nine years away, Australian veteran Mitchell Starc is poised to return to the Indian Premier League. He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2014 and 2015 tournaments, taking 34 wickets at an average of 20.38 in 27 matches. However, the bowler chose to forego franchise cricket in order to concentrate on his national squad.
But with the 2024 T20 World Cup in mind, Starc is prepared to return to the lucrative competition, joining the Kolkata Knight Riders team on March 17. The two-time winners, who had an inexperienced pace unit otherwise, have high expectations for the ace pacer, whom they broke the bank to recruit for INR 24.75 crore.
Prior to traveling to India for the competition, Starc thought it would be a fun and novel task for him. Along with calling the Indian Premier competition the greatest T20 competition in the world, he also expressed his excitement for it.
I believe it has been eight years. I reunited with KKR, my intended location in 2018. I’ll therefore return there in the hopes of donning purple and gold. I suppose my recollections of RCB from 2014 and 2015 are few and far between, but I’m eager to dive right in. Of course, a fresh round of participants. Starc told cricket.com.au, “A group of guys I certainly haven’t met or been able to work with before.”
“I’ve played against and encountered a few foreign guys.” Indeed, it will be thrilling. It’s undoubtedly a fresh challenge. Yes, it will be thrilling. When the T20 league is the greatest in the world, it’s always a little bit of a circus.
I’m looking forward to that, so definitely.” Mitchell Starc added.
