Moeen Ali of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) believes that captain MS Dhoni could continue participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) next season. Notably, there is widespread speculation that Dhoni’s 16th season in the Premier League will be his last.
On Wednesday, April 12, the 41-year-old captain of CSK displayed glimpses of his lethal striking prowess against the Rajasthan Royals. Dhoni’s 17-ball score of 32, which included three sixes and one four, nearly propelled his team to victory. Moeen Ali, Dhoni’s teammate, opined that he could still perform in the league during the upcoming season, contrary to the rumors of his retirement.
He could almost certainly play again next season. I do not believe his batting will prevent him from playing in two or three years, based on the manner in which he is currently performing. ESPN cricinfo quoted Moeen Ali as saying, “I was not surprised by his performance against Rajasthan.”
“I’ve been observing him bat incredibly well in the practice nets. It’s incredible to see someone of that age. People often forget that it’s not simple to arrive so late, but that’s what makes him so good at his job,” he continued.
Moeen Ali emphasizes the distinction between Eoin Morgan and MS Dhoni.
Moeen Ali has shared a locker room with one of the best English cricketers, Eoin Morgan, and has also had the good fortune to work with Dhoni in the IPL. MS (Dhoni) bases the majority of his day-of captaincy decisions on instinct. It was somewhat similar with Morgs (Eoin Morgan), but he was also extremely data-driven. However, they are both so serene. Regarding mannerisms, they are extremely, extremely, extremely similar,” he added.
