Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain of Indian cricket, has surprised everyone by suing Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited and Mihir Diwakar. The 2017 deal between MS Dhoni and Diwakar, which sought to create a worldwide cricket academy, is at the center of the Ranchi court case. Aarka Sports is alleged to have broken the terms of the contract, which included paying profit-sharing and franchise fees.
The conditions outlined in the agreement were not met, even after several attempts to settle the issue and several court notices from MS Dhoni. Thus, on August 15, 2021, he canceled the authorization letter pertaining to Aarka Sports. Under the representation of Dayanand Singh of Vidhi Associates, the World Cup-winning skipper said that Aarka Sports’ dishonesty and noncompliance cost him more than Rs 15 crore. His close friend Simant Lohani has also filed a case, claiming that after they sued Aarka Sports, Mihir Diwakar threatened them and verbally abused them.
The cricket legend underwent successful knee surgery in June 2023 at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital, coinciding with this legal turbulence and his personal struggles. The helicopter shot specialist spent some time in Ranchi after his recuperation became well known, and he later made a public comeback to interact with his admirers and pursue his passion for classic vehicles.
The spotlight is still focused on MS Dhoni off-field antics.
Rishabh Pant, a fellow Indian cricketer who recently returned from Dubai where he spent New Year’s Day with family and friends, joined the 42-year-old. Pant joined his side, the Delhi Capitals, for the IPL 2024 mini-auction conducted in the United Arab Emirates on December 19. Pant has been recovering from severe injuries he incurred in a life-threatening vehicle incident in December 2022.
Pant showed his rehabilitation progress during the auction by being spotted with the Delhi Capitals team management. “Captain Cool” has been making waves both inside and outside of the cricket world as he navigates personal recovery and legal actions. He also celebrated Christmas in Dubai with family and friends.
