MS Dhoni, the legendary Indian captain, has once again demonstrated his love and respect for both the Indian Army and vehicles. The wicketkeeper-batter’s cherished 2009 Hummer H2 has lately received a military-themed makeover, with a video of the modified SUV going viral.
The 44-year-old, who holds the honorary title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, has frequently praised the Indian Army. Dhoni’s Hummer now includes artwork depicting fighter jets, tanks, helicopters, and men in combat. The design was created by a Ranchi-based vehicle detailing studio. Achyut Kishore, the studio’s creator, claimed that Dhoni personally visualised the design, wanting the SUV to reflect his deep connection to the military services.

MS Dhoni celebrated his 44th birthday in Ranchi.
Notably, this is not the first time Dhoni has openly shown his admiration for the military. During the 2019 World Cup, he wore gloves with the ‘Balidaan Badge’, a symbol of the Indian Para Special Forces. He has also done parachute jumps as part of his training and spends time with warriors.
Meanwhile, Dhoni’s passion for cars is well-known. In addition to the Hummer, his automotive collection includes the Ferrari 599 GTO, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Nissan Jonga, Citroën Basalt Dark Edition, and a legendary 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II. He also has an extensive bike collection, which includes classic models and superbikes.
Dhoni, who turned 44 on July 7, spent his birthday in Ranchi with close friends. A video of him cutting the cake wearing a sleeveless T-shirt rapidly went viral. Days later, Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, posted photos of him petting two of their pets.
Furthermore, the Ranchi-born player, who declared his retirement from international cricket in 2020, has continued to compete in the IPL. Dhoni took over as captain of CSK during the last IPL 2025 season after regular leader Ruturaj Gaikwad was sidelined in the middle of the season. However, the five-time champions had a disappointing season, finishing at the bottom of the standings. Dhoni also stated that he would take 4-5 months to decide whether he would return to the cash-rich league the following season.
