[WATCH] IPL 2025: MS Dhoni gives Chepauk crowd ‘Thala Dharisanam’ during CSK vs MI match

At the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, during Match No. 3 of the IPL 2025, superstar MS Dhoni made an impressive entrance at the crease to conclude the exciting match between CSK and MI. Dhoni’s ascent onto the crease to see the winning runs filled the Chepauk crowd with delight. The spectators at the stadium and around the world went into a frenzy when Ravindra Jadeja took the sixth wicket, reasoning that Dhoni would be on his way.

MS Dhoni, however, did not let everyone down and made a spectacular debut that perfectly captured the essence of the global fandom he enjoys.

Despite playing only a few balls, the wicketkeeper-batter failed to score any runs during his undefeated stint at the crease. Social media users were enamoured with the Ranchi-born player when the video of his arrival went viral.

Rachin Ravindra scored the game-winning runs in CSK’s first game of the season after a massive shot over the deep mid-wicket area past the finish line. Dhoni’s fans would have been a little disappointed because he was unable to end the game in his own way. However, CSK supporters were pleased as their club established itself in the IPL 2025 with two vital points over the rival Mumbai Indians.

With their victory, CSK started the IPL 2025 on a high note and moved up to third place in the points standings. After the victory, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was ecstatic as well, and with good reason—after the team’s disastrous performance in the previous edition, in which they missed out on the playoffs, he would want to make a big comeback.

The team would like to maintain the winning momentum in their next match, which is scheduled for Friday, March 28 at the same location against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
