Mohammad Kaif, a former India international, believes that the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni is no longer participating as a player for the Chennai Super Kings and is instead mentoring other cricketers. Notably, under his capable leadership, players such as Matheesha Pathirana, Tushar Deshpande, and Shivam Dube, among many others, have played excellent cricket, and as a result, the four-time champions are presently ranked third in the IPL Points Table.
Kaif stated, in reference to the team’s performance during the season, that Dhoni selects his own team, backs his players, and teaches the new cricketers how to perform well in order to complete the task.
“Mahi (MS Dhoni) is no longer a participant but rather a coach. He determines the roster.
Let us take the field. He rarely teases the elders, but he is constantly instructing the youth. Kaif stated on Star Sports’ Cricket Live that his desire is for every player under him to perform well, as this will make the team’s work easier.
Dhoni alone is aware of when he will retire. Harbhajan Singh
In the meantime, despite rumors that Dhoni will retire at the end of the 2023 season, the 41-year-old hinted that he may also participate in the IPL in 2024. During the kickoff against the Lucknow Super Giants, the World Cup-winning captain revealed to commentator Danny Morrison that he has never commented on his future up until this point.
MS Dhoni replied with a smile to Morrison’s query at the Ekana Stadium on May 3: “You’ve decided this will be my last game.”
Harbhajan Singh, a former India cricketer, stated after the incident that nobody knows when he will retire from professional cricket. Fans will be ecstatic if he continues to play for CSK beyond IPL 2023, according to the off-spinner.
“Only MS Dhoni knows the date of Dhoni’s retirement. Last year, I predicted that will play this year. I do not know if he will play again next season. Yes, if he performs next season, the fans will be pleased to see him on the field. Harbhajan Singh explained that fans have always desired to see him perform.
