Rohit Sharma was replaced as an Impact Player at the start of the second innings of the match by the left-arm wrist-spinner. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s intimidating presence at the crease was eliminated in Puthur’s first over after he was purchased for INR 30 lakh at the November 2024 mega auction.
In the following overs, he took a few more wickets, bringing his total to 3/32 in four overs. With five deliveries remaining in the game, CSK ultimately won by a score of four wickets. With an undefeated 65* from 45 deliveries, Rachin Ravindra gave his team the victory. His quick 67-run collaboration with Gaikwad (53 off 26) laid the groundwork for CSK.
In terms of MI, they did not have a particularly impressive performance at Chepauk. With Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav scoring 31 and 29, respectively, they were only able to produce 155/9 at the end of their 20 overs. Deepak Chahar’s late cameo of 28 runs off 15 balls also helped. Additionally, Naman Dhir’s overall performance was significant. He gave up just 12 runs in his three overs while scoring 17 off 12 deliveries.
