Shubman Gill, India’s first batter, expressed his happiness and fulfilment at realising a long-cherished desire of playing an international cricket match at the renowned PCA Stadium in Mohali. Shubman Gill reflected on his emotional journey and said, “I was 7 years old when we initially arrived in Mohali.
It was a dream of mine to play an international match in Mohali because I had seen so many games here as a spectator. I’d played in a few IPL games, but having my family there to witness me play in an international match was really unique, I said afterward to Jio Cinema.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan, two of his fellow batters, were also commended by the young cricketer for maximising their chances to play for the national squad. Gaikwad scored 71 runs off 77 balls as part of a strong partnership with Gill that helped them put up a critical 142-run stand for the first wicket.
Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad both seized their chances. They all exhibit a great deal of enthusiasm for performing whenever they have the chance, said Gill.
In particular, with the approaching 2023 ODI World Cup on the horizon, Shubman Gill emphasised his adaptability and preparedness to produce under a variety of scenarios.
“I believe my power lies in my ability to judge when to attack and when to defend. You can count on me to adjust my game to the circumstances of the World Cup. To give myself the best opportunity of succeeding, I will strive to adjust to the competitors and environment, Gill said.
