With some major players on their roster, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are still in the running for the IPL 2025 playoffs. The team has had some dubious performances in addition to some outstanding wins. When the team made it to their first IPL final in 2014, it was the last time they came close to winning the championship.
In addition, it was the team’s final playoff qualifying season; in the ten years thereafter, they have not accomplished it. Experts have doubts about the team’s chances of winning the event, despite the fact that several of its players show promise. Manoj Tiwary, a former PBKS player and IPL 2012 winner, is one of them. He has stated that the team’s lack of faith in Indian players will prevent them from winning the tournament this year.
“My intuition tells me that the Punjab team won’t be able to win the #IPL trophy this season because, during their batting session today, coach Ricky Ponting trusted his foreign players to deliver, but they were unable to do so and made it obvious that he didn’t trust the Indian players lower in the order. Regardless of their ranking in the top two, if he continues in this manner, the title will be far from them. On his X account, Tiwary commented, “#KKRvsPBKS.”

Washed out KKR vs. PBKS match
Speaking about the Punjab Kings (PBKS), they most recently played the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, scoring 201 runs overall. The Knight Riders were only able to play one over when the weather gods ruined the fun for the players and spectators, and the game was unfortunately called off owing to the rain.
With nine games played thus far, the Punjab Kings are presently ranked fourth in the standings. With five victories, four defeats, and one game ending in a draw, they now have 11 points. They intend to maintain their position in the tournament’s top four.
