Mysore Warriors defeat Hubli Tigers by 9 runs to go to the Final

The Mysore Warriors won the second Maharaja Trophy semifinal against the Hubli Tigers by a score of nine runs. Mysore Warriors managed to hold onto their total of 177/8 in spite of a late charge by Karthikeya KP (61*) because to K Gowtham’s adroit spell. Mysore Warriors recovered from losing early wickets in the match thanks to fast bowling from the lower order and a half century from Karthik SU (53).

Despite losing two wickets in response to the Mysore Warriors, the Hubli Tigers maintained their lead in the powerplay. Mohd. Taha (5) was helped by Karthik CA to fall early. Impact player Thippa Reddy (33), who was stumped by K Gowtham after hitting three fours and three sixes, helped the Hubli Tigers end the powerplay at 55/3.

KL Shrijith (19) started things off in the seventh over, hitting J Suchith for two fours and a six in back-to-back deliveries. However, K Gowtham removed him in the following over with the score at 72/3.

Hubli Tigers were reduced to 95/5 in 13 overs by K Gowtham, who proceeded to exert influence by taking Manish Pandey’s (6) catch off J Suchith and accounting for Aneeshwar Gautam (6).

With a 73-run partnership in just 45 balls, Karthikeya KP (53*) and Manvanth Kumar (21*) kept the Tigers in the game until the very finish. Karthikeya KP amassed a 32-ball half century with four fours and two maximums thanks to Manvanth Kumar’s assistance.

Manoj Bhandage held the Hubli Tigers to 10 runs in the last over, despite their requirement for 20 runs. Three sixes and four fours adorned Karthikeya KP’s heroic knock.

After Vidwath Kaverappa removed Karthik CA (6) and Kumar LR removed Karun Nair (4) before the conclusion of the fourth over, the Mysore Warriors, who were put in first, staggered to 14/2.

By counterpunching in the fifth over with a four and a six, Karthik SU (53) enabled Mysore to reach 33/2 by the end of the powerplay. Karthik SU and Sharath Srinivas (26), who combined for 61 runs in 48 deliveries, were the mainstays of the middle overs. In the twelfth over, Srinivas was dismissed by Nishchit Pai, ending his run-a-ball innings. In the 16th over, Sumit Kumar (18) was then removed by Kumar LR.

In the 17th over, Karthik SU was run out after reaching his half century in 39 balls with four fours and two sixes. With his crucial assistance, the Mysore Warriors reached 123/5 in 16.3 overs. The 17th would also see J Suchith (0) fall, Kaverappa’s second of the evening.

Mysore Warriors would make a lot of money in the last three overs, scoring 54 runs. Manoj Bhandage scored 26 runs in 11 balls before being removed by KC Cariappa, while Harshil Dharmani scored 14 runs in four deliveries before being trapped by Kumar LR. With contributions from K Gowtham (10*) and Vidyadhar Patil (11*), Mysore reached 177/8 in 20 overs.
