In the first Test of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 in Perth, veteran Australian spinner Nathan Lyon recently came forth to discuss how he confronted star Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s sledging. Lyon disclosed that Jaiswal had dubbed him elderly as India dominated Australia in Perth.
It is important to remember that Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the match, but he helped India score 487 runs in the second innings with a massive 161-run performance. The match between Lyon and Jaiswal was described as an exciting one throughout.
Lyon, however, discussed what Jaiswal had said to him during the match and his own reaction to it. Jaiswal remarked, “You’re old, but you’re a legend.” “Thank you, buddy, but I don’t feel that old,” Lyon answered.
India thrashed Australia by a massive 295 runs in the first Test, while Nathan Lyon, who has a wealth of experience, only took two wickets in the Perth test.

Notably, Josh Hazlewood has been dealing with a side strain, therefore he will not be playing for Australia in the second Test of the series. Speaking of his recuperation, Lyon disclosed that Hazlewood has been putting in a lot of effort to return to his peak level of fitness.
