Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and his tense relationship with Virat Kohli were discussed in a humorous video that Barbados Royals, a team in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), posted on social media.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow resulted in a furious altercation between Naveen and Kohli, which has since grown into a legendary rivalry. In Delhi for India’s ODI World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan, the two cricket players, however, put an end to their disagreement with a loving embrace.
The social media team of Barbados Royals released a humorous film that revolves around the complete storyline ahead of CPL 2024.
The video opens with Naveen, who will play for the Rovman Powell-led team in the league, looking through his phone and seeing clips of popular YouTuber IShowSpeed gushing about how much he loves Virat Kohli.
With a dejected grimace, the right-arm pacer locks his phone. And then he moves and begins to walk till he notices a paper cutout on the wall that says ‘Ben Stokes’. Because Kohli’s name sounds like an obscenity from India, which he occasionally uses on the pitch, people equate it with the England Test captain.
Upon noticing the paper cut, Naveen was observed shaking his head and walking away. Ultimately, he makes a call from his hotel room to the receptionist, asking what channel the CPL is on. The response he receives is “Channel No. 18”. For the uninitiated, Kohli’s jersey number is 18.
When the call is disconnected, Naveen adds, “Bas karo yaar, ab kuch to naya dhoondo [Stop it guys, now find something new].”
