When it came time to rebuild, Josh Inglis was joined in the middle by in-form batsman Nehal Wadhera. An unlucky run-out occurred as soon as they got their eyes in.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025’s Match 37 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take place in Mullanpur on Sunday, April 20. RCB chose to bowl first after winning the toss, and it seems like a wise choice right now.
Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya found gaps at regular intervals to give the PBKS openers a quick start. The Tim David-Krunal Pandya combination dismissed both Prabhsimran (33 off 17) and Priyansh (22 off 15), who were the first to return to the pavilion. At this point, Punjab Kings were still in a strong position (62/2 after 6.1 overs), but captain Shreyas Iyer’s six off ten wickets soon shook them once more. At 7.4 overs, the score was 68/3.
Suyash Sharma bowled a quicker ball on a length to Inglis, who played it into the deck on the final ball of the ninth over. Tim David raced in from long-on to toss the ball back towards the bowler’s end after it bounced over his head.
Wadhera wanted to run the second, but Inglis was reluctant and finally chose to return within the crease at the non-striker’s end, causing a communication breakdown between the hitters. Due to his big run, Wadhera (5 off 6) also found himself in the non-striker’s end.
Virat Kohli caught the throw close to the stumps and passed it to Jitesh Sharma, who was at the striker’s end and easily flipped the bails off.

Punjab Kings trying their best to reach a defendable total
Wadhera’s dismissal put a dent in Punjab Kings’ hopes to score big. If this was not enough, Inglis (29 off 17) and Marcus Stoinis (1 off 2) departed not too long after. At the time of writing, PBKS are 134/6 after 17 overs with Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen at the crease.
