After defeating New Zealand in a final that went right down to the wire, Team India won their third ICC title in the coveted “White Blazer.” In an attempt to snap their protracted Champions Trophy drought, the two sides famously faced off on Sunday, March 9, in Dubai. The last time India won an eight-team event was twelve years ago, and the Kiwis did so in 2000.
The Men in Blue defeated a determined BlackCaps team by four wickets, though, and they continued to be invincible. However, a story about the tournament’s runners-up is currently making the rounds online. Especially noteworthy is a video that went viral showing the squad receiving an acknowledgement gift after losing. A user made the amusing observation that Rachin Ravindra was fundamentally “Indian” in a video that was posted.
In the provided video, the star player of Indian descent checked the gift box, even though the other players didn’t seem to be interested in seeing what the shiny box contained. Upon observing this, the user characterised it as an Indian characteristic, stating that Indians typically check to see if the box is empty or if a gift might be concealed within out of curiosity. Consequently, the netizens were inconsolable at the fan’s impish remark.
