On Saturday, April 12, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Nicholas Pooran, a star for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), hammered his fourth half-century of the season against the Gujarat Titans (GT), continuing his incredible record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The former West Indies T20 captain blasted seven sixes and one four in his 61 off 34 deliveries. One unlucky spectator was struck in the head by one of Pooran’s sixes as the home crowd took in the southpaw’s incredible batting effort. After being taken to the hospital, the young man was treated there.
But a social media video claims that he came back to celebrate Lucknow’s victory over the Shubman Gill-led team by six wickets.

Lucknow wins a hat-trick of games, and Nicholas Pooran takes back the Orange Cap.
After winning the toss on Saturday, Rishabh Pant chose to field first. With openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill putting on a 120-run partnership in 12 overs, Gujarat got off to an incredible start. But with six wickets taken and just 60 runs given up in the final eight overs, Lucknow recovered admirably. The home team’s two wickets came from Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi.
In response, Aiden Markram hit 58 off just 31 balls with an outstanding knock at the top of the order. The South African T20 captain made the most of Sudharsan’s mercy for him. Mitchell Marsh missed the match due to his daughter’s illness, so Pant opened the innings. He hit 21 from 18 balls after Jos Buttler had dropped him earlier in his innings.
Pooran, who holds the Orange Cap, launched a blitzkrieg, but Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad brought LSG home with three balls remaining. With three straight victories, Lucknow is currently ranked third in the standings. At No. 2, the Titans are directly above them in the meanwhile.
