Nitish Kumar Reddy has been with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team since IPL 2023. The outstanding all-rounder played 28 matches for the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, scoring 485 runs and taking five wickets. After an excellent performance in the IPL 2024, Reddy made his international debut for India. He has played seven Tests and four Twenty20 Internationals thus far. The 22-year-old was part of India’s side in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, but an injury forced him to miss the last two games.
Over the past week, there have been indications that Nitish Kumar Reddy is dissatisfied with his status at the Pat Cummins-led organisation.
According to the same rumours, he intends to leave SRH and join a new organisation before the IPL 2026 season begins.
However, Reddy refuted the reports on Sunday, July 27, in a tweet on his official ‘X’ (previously Twitter) handle, stating that he and SRH maintain a friendship based on trust, respect, and years of mutual love. He emphasised that he will always support the Orange Army.
“I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team,” Reddy tweeted.

Nitish played just two matches in his first season in 2023. However, he became a household name with his performances in 2024. This year, however, the Visakhapatnam-born disappointed big time, as he scored just 182 runs at an average of 22.75 and a strike rate of 118.95 in 13 matches. He was retained for INR 6 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
