Nitish Kumar Reddy, an Indian all-rounder, has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match series against England after suffering a left knee injury. He will fly back to India for further evaluation and treatment.
Furthermore, left-arm bowler Arshdeep has been ruled out of the forthcoming fourth Test, which begins on July 23 in Manchester, due to an impact injury to his left thumb sustained while bowling in a net session. Anshul Kamboj had connected with the team in Manchester.
While Nitish Kumar Reddy receives medical attention at home, the BCCI’s medical team will monitor Arshdeep’s rehabilitation.
“All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the final two Tests due to a left knee injury. Nitish will return home, and the team wishes him a swift recovery, according to a BCCI announcement.
“Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test against England in Manchester. He suffered an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets during a training session in Beckenham. “The BCCI Medical Team is keeping track of his progress,” it said.
Regarding the series, India is now losing 2-1. They came up short in the series opener at Headingley, as the hosts won by five wickets. India responded with a memorable 336-run victory at Edgbaston in the second match, thanks to an outstanding batting performance by skipper Shubman Gill. However, they lost a nail-biter at Lord’s by 22 runs, giving up the advantage.
The visitors will look to level the series at Old Trafford. The fourth Test is set to begin on Wednesday, July 23. Gill did not perform well with the bat in the third match. His batting performance and team management abilities will be heavily scrutinised.
The series’ final match will take place at Kennington Oval. The layover period between the fourth and fifth Tests will be substantially shorter.
